This stylish country house dating from the end of the 17th century, with a beautiful garden and majestic palm trees, shelters works of art by the famous Grasse artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard and his descendants. This gallant love minstrel painted four superb scenes entitled “The Progress of Love” for the Countess of Barry, the King’s favorite. Today, splendid replicas of the paintings decorate the museum’s salons.
In addition to the original drawings and paintings of this artist, you will also discover, in the stairwell, a stunning decoration in trompe-l’œil attributed to Alexandre-Evariste Fragonard, son of Jean-Honoré Fragonard, which he painted at the age of 13.
